These politicians on both sides of the aisle are playing with the New Jersey Supreme Court. Shame on them.

They should arrange a play date and work out their differences.

To those of us who love the law, what is happening with our Supreme Court is a travesty. We should amend our Consitution to repeal the 7-year review of at least Supreme Court justices, if not all judges. It works well enough for federal judges with initial appointments of lifetime tenure during their terms of good behaviour. There is too much political intrigue afoot. It's bad for both parties.

And I strongly disagree with Bebe's sad comment below about the quality of our Supreme Court justices. A Justice Bebe would be the worst if ever appointed when he needs to bow to the hand that feeds him and rule the way the governor dictates in order to gain and retain tenure.

It's a sad fact that most of the judges passing through the Supreme Court over the past fifteen or twenty years are UNQUALIFIED for TOP JUDICIAL THINKING AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE LAW AND ITS EFFECTS.

They have ordinary intelligence, ordinary biases, and are crippled by being put through the political hack strainer before being poured into a black robe.

The state ought to raise the salary level of el supremos to about five hundred grand per, and open the slots to top jurists from around the country!

Citing no one in particular, they don't make me puke...just YAWNNNNNNNNNNN!

And how come they just don't appoint from the best of the best on the appellate bench?? What the hell is going on in the "Soprano State"

    Hoens: Ho-Hum
