Judge says Miami-Dade Is No Place for Venezuelan Dispute
Basing much of her ruling on the forum non conveniens analysis established by the Florida Supreme Court in Kenney System v. Continental Insurance, a Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge has found that a complex deal hatched in Caracas has no business in a Florida courtroom. The Venezuelan companies that consummated the deal plan to appeal the judge's ejection of their $72 million complaint.
